Dr Nguyen

Dr. Do Nguyen is a native Memphian who graduated from White Station High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island where he was the recipient of the Brown University Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Nguyen returned to Memphis for post graduate studies and received his Doctorate from Southern College of Optometry. He received SCO's Award for being selected as the student in his class that is “most likely to pursue private practice optometry.”  He believes in Memphis’ future and contributes to the city in which he grew up through different local mentoring organizations.  Dr. Nguyen is a licensed Medical Optometrist in the State of Tennessee and is certified in Therapeutics and Injections to treat eye disease.  His areas of interest are children and family eye care.

Honors and Distinctions

Dr. Nguyen is on The New Memphis Institute Alumni Board,  Memphis Chamber Soundcheck, and was voted a Top 10 Young Memphis by the Memphis Chamber.  He serves on the Brown Alumni Selection Committee where he interviews local high school students who apply to Brown University.  He was chosen to perform school screenings for youth attending the Memphis Grizzlies basketball camps.  After joining Eyewear Gallery, Dr. Nguyen been recognized in the Germantown News, Memphis Daily News, The Commercial Appeal and Optometric Management.

Community Service & Hobbies

Aside from being an eye doctor, Dr. Nguyen has many hobbies.  He has served at various capacities with Literacy Mid South, Grizzlies TEAM UP Mentoring for high school students, and the Brooks Museum Wine Committee.  He is now working with New Memphis Institute, The Memphis Chamber, and the Brown Alumni Selection Committee. He was a member of similar community organizations during high school and in college. He is the youngest of seven children and enjoys spending time with his family.  He enjoys playing basketball and is a huge fan of the Grizzlies and Tigers. He has performed vision screenings for youth attending the Memphis Grizzlies basketball camps.
